To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. I am interested in applying for the position of Project Manager. I am confident that my experience affords me the traits necessary to be a strong contributor within your organization. I believe that it is my intellect, knowledge base, capacity as a manager, ability and strong desire to continue to learn and grow that separates me from other candidates for this position.
My experience in construction began in Big Sky Montana, working as an apprentice carpenter, drywall/taper and concrete worker and having moved into an Asst. Project Management role overseeing all aspects of the residential construction. After several years away from professional construction, but continuing to dabble in smaller residential contract jobs on my own, I started with Inhaber Construction where I ran some interior work; then at Bonland Industries I had the opportunity to run a 2.2 million dollar interior fit out; finally with Disalvo-GDC Contracting I have had the experience running multiple million dollar jobs simultaneously. Now, I am looking forward to my next challenge in the field of Construction Management. My construction experience
includes estimating, budget management, contract writing and negotiation, manpower scheduling and management, daily reports, shop drawings, R.F.I.s, Site Supervision, Submittals, and a plethora of other responsibilities. I have also taken classes and learned formally about the industry at New York University and online at Turner University.
My professional experiences have helped me fortify my personal understanding of construction management. I believe that a quality manager is consistent, inspired and motivates the team to get the job done on or ahead of schedule. My experiences in construction, together with my background in teaching, allow me to create such an environment. The organizational skills, time and people management techniques, and the focused, pro-active, detail oriented attention to the needs of individuals, groups and projects are all skills that I bring to any position.
I am confident that my qualifications distinguish me as a qualified candidate. Thank you for considering me for a position with your firm. References are available upon request.
Sincerely,
Gary S. Holmgren
